Recorded a Halloween record in my garage (again). Using Sonar X1. Hodge podge of pres and old instruments. I'd like to hear other creepy DIY recordings. Muhahahhahha

I did this with my sister one year.

I used to put speakers on the front porch and loop it when the trickertreaters were comin' round. My wife and kids thought it was too scary for the little kids though.

Ha - dfutra - song scared the f*&^ out of me when it kicked in after the mello intro. Sounds great and hats off to you and morespaceecho.

Snarl 12/8 - really creepy and scary. Would love to do a show and have that as the intro music.

Tape Ops are weirdos.

Let's get some more links man!

For trick or treaters at my house, I have a PA in the garage pumping out orchestral scores from horror films, all plowed through a Camel Crusher plugin. There's a corresponding light show and lots of fog. Neighborhood folks love it.

As for scary original songs, here's the first track from my band's first full length album:

Please feel free. I'd be honored. I freakin' love my sister's voice sometimes. She was in "Slavic Chorus" in college and learned to do some freaky shit with it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One more. I feel funny about sharing this. I wrote (and recorded the first half of) this when I was feeling suicidal once. Definitely needs mastering (if not a remix) though.
http://www.snarlnet.com/mp3/snarl/16_blackwire.mp3
Fun trivia: the black wire in question was a very old guitar string.
Oh, and I know there are medication haters on this board (they're everywhere), but thank the Lord Santa for anti-depressants.
Edit: and sorry for the cliche'd chord choices.
Carl - I love your stuff - I'm glad you wrote a song about it and not act on it. That's why we're musicians - otherwise who knows what we would be doing.
Also, If meds work, there is no disputing it and more power to you. Do what you need to do and keep on being creative. Peace - C
Some proper scary business going on here! Loving your work folks Smile
I did a thing last year based around some samples off an old 'Music & Movement' type record to include on one of my 'Funky Halloween' mix tapes.
Here's the track, there's a link to the mix there too : http://soundcloud.com/rubberfunk/the-doctor-and-the-goblins
Haven't done any Halloween related tunes this year, I've been doing a Christmas album instead Wink
I'm not a big Halloween celebrator, but there is some very creative stuff here! Love the songs (especially flappy's stuff)... Carl, I'm still just a bit sc-sc-sc-sc, ahhh, I mean, I-I-I-I'm just a lit-tle bit sca, sca... Shocked Oh boy.
GJ
PS-- The only thing I'd have to post right now would be a few orchestral cues I put together on the Juno. I'll see what I can do with the limited time this week (having the first of two carpal-tunnel surguries tomorrow. I kind of wish that I hadn't listened to C-C-C-Carl's p-p-p-piece).
Scariest thing in this thread. Especially for a musician. I hope your surgeries and recovery are awesome.
