"Johnny Two-Times; Yeah, That's it! Johnny Two-Times... Two-Times..."

The Gipsy Kings were fantabulous. Apparently their only North American stop(??). A couple thousand people in the Seneca Niagara casino's "event center," so it was a little crowded and the sound was a bit "meh." But they played great. Great guitar playing, singing, and they have their own way of melding the Spanish concept of "rumba" (groovy Flamenco) with more traditional Afro-Cuban/Latin/World rhythms.

Really nice rhythm section (keys, bass, drums) and I think their usual percussionist. Good show.

Re: The Big Lebowski, that's another film that achieved cult status pretty quickly, and may even be considered a classic at this point, but a film that I've never seen nonetheless. I keep hearing people tell me "You've gotta see it!", and I want to, but circumstances have prevented me so far, so I wouldn't know about the Eagles/Gipsy Kings thing. Just Sayin'.

I hope the G.K.s still use the French bassist, Bernard Paganotti. Genius.
Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.

That was him. Really great. Locked-down the bottom on that "Spanish Rumba" thing, but they only gave him a couple of spots to shine in. There second to last piece was an instrumental which gave everybody in the rhythm section a little feature.
