I was looking for a thread to jump on and add my congratulations to you guys for this landmark issue. It's been a long amazing ride since I first saw your mag at Studio G somewhere around 2001-ish. I don't know where I'd be without the community that the magazine and the TOMB created.

Thanks.

A lot!

Cheers to the entire TapeOp staff! You have no idea how much of an impact you have made on all of us and the recording community. Smile

Yar thanks so much Larry et al!

I enjoyed the quotes in this issue more than I thought I would. I ended up reading the print magazine with an iPad alongside looking up about half of the people quoted..

I live in Seattle so the Kearney Barton quote led me to a treasure trove of Seattle RnB I never knew about in the related Light in The Attic releases.

I think Kearney must have been at least 75 when he was interviewed so no wonder he didn't see the need to invest in the new digital equipment fad!

Coincidentally I have a friend organizing a Jazz Walk along Jackson Street for next week-end and I'm sure some of the club scene from back in the day took place in the CD there.. maybe it'll be re-born!

I started reading tapeop around issue #10. I remember thinking- well shoot, I guess I'm not such a unique wierdo after all.... cool!
There have been times when I was ready to sell my last 57 and throw in the towel, and then the next issue of tape op would arrive.
Next thing I know I'm making some silly tape loop and daydreaming about microphones.
Can't belive it's issue 100 already.
Oh, and thanks!

P.S. I lied about having the first black sabbath on vinyl. Shocked

Loved the quotes section - I want to go back and re-read some of my hoarded previous issues now.

I'm way late to the party on this thread, but seriously, thanks Larry and everybody else who makes Tape Op happen. It's pretty much the only publication in this field I give a shit about anymore and it helps keep my brain in tune when I start to feel frustrated/bored/sick of music. Happy 100 and here's to another 100!
