Metal/rock mix, critiques wanted

Post by goldie469 » Wed Jul 30, 2014 4:02 pm

Going for an old-school type production here, so single takes, no drum samples, minimal editing etc etc. I still want the mixes to be of a commercial standard.

I'd be particularly interested to hear from any MEs out there as to how these mixes would translate post-mastering.

Particular things im worried about:
Bass guitar/kick drum balance
Do the guitars sound too sterile and digital?
Cymbals/guitar balance in the top end
Is the vocal sitting right in the mix?

Any criticism/feedback would be very kindly recieved - I want to make this as good as I possibly can.

(working title, song is about human sacrifice. no offence intended)
