Well, yeah, and yet, that he's "not gonna miss" her/us - I reckon I like morbid humor.
Ever see the movie, The Rhinestone Cowboy? Willie Nelson is pretty funny, has a line to the effect of "she can suck the chrome offa trailer hitch"...
Or was it, "suck-start a B52 bomber"?
One of those.
Campbell was good in True Grit, also, BTW.
He played guitar on ?Be My Baby? by The Ronettes, ?He?s a Rebel? by Darlene Love & The Crystals, ?You?ve Lost That Lovin? Feeling? by the Righteous Brothers, ?Viva Las Vegas? by Elvis Presley, ?Strangers in the Night? by Frank Sinatra, ?Last Train to Clarksville? by The Monkees, various recordings by The Beach Boys (esp., Pet Sounds), Buffy Sainte-Marie, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Bobbie Gentry, Rick Nelson, Tanya Tucker, Nat King Cole, Nancy Sinatra, Wayne Newton . . .

This is actually pretty old news. I saw his farewell tour a couple years ago, and have an autographed program. Its was interesting and sad. He played and sang really well, but was, at times confused. He told the same joke about 5 times, and was having monitor issues that were really frustrating him.
