You're doing something different with the drums. The cymbals are crisper and seem to have more high end content.

I tried something different this time yes.
I only use a 2 mic set up on the kit. Usually an SM58 on the overhead. This time I used an apex 210 ribbon mic. But I didn't put it over the kit like I usually do. I put it behind me just peeking over my left shoulder(I play drums lefty). Im actually liking this sound a bit better and will try it more often. All I got to do now is actually learn how to play better:)

Yeah, the ribbon mic's sensitivity is probably helping a lot. Moving coil mics can often have a hard time with anything above 5K to 7K (depending on the lightness of the diaphragm assembly).
