Finding a source for flame resistant fabric

Post by losthighway » Sun Mar 22, 2015 10:46 am

There are so many studios built these days with largely absorption oriented walls covered in fabric. Where do people buy fabric to cover an entire wall without creating a fire hazard, or spraying weird chemicals on things?

I got a bunch of fr fabric on closeout from Dazian about five years back. Not sure what they'd got now, but it was much cheaper than the other options I could find.

I'm not sure if all fabrics they offer are Flame Retardant, but they seem to be the 1st choice for many pro's (and cost accordingly!):

I just use Burlap and spray-on fire retardant in my (comparatively) sleazy rooms :)

Dang you can spend 1,000's if you want to cover an entire control room/ iso booth.

Yeah, Guilford of Maine has very nice fabric, but it's 'spensive. I'd just use a cheaper fabric (still nice), and spray it yourself. Maybe if you are concerned spray it outside and let it dry before you install it.
