LPR-35 at 15IPS (TEAC 3340)
Trying to figure out which tape formulation to use with the TEAC 3340. I had been using SM468 on 7" reels. About to move up to 10.5" reels and am wondering whether to stick with the 468 or go to LPR35.
Any insight/experience would be appreciated!

yes LPR is 1 mil and SM911 is 1.5mil. I was told by Adrian at Adrian Pro Audio (great tech in SoCal) that due to the faster speed the thicker tape was needed for the 3340.musichascolors wrote:Cool, thanks. My understanding is the SM911 and LPR35 are the same tape formulation, but with a different thickness.markjazzbassist wrote:great machine i had a lot of fun with mine. i used Scotch 206 NOS, it's 1.5mil and for RMG i used SM911 and it sounded great.
hope that helps.

Got it, yeah that makes sense. I may stick with the 468 in that case, as I've been pretty satisfied with its sound.markjazzbassist wrote:yes LPR is 1 mil and SM911 is 1.5mil.
