Hey all,

For those of you who, like me, struggle with some of the more advanced things in Pro Tools, you might find this article useful...

Drum Editing

Anyone have any other tips / techniques to share?

Nick

Hi,

I tend to not ever use a grid for editing drums.

I do use "the band", as the "grid".

Basically I have to listen to the entire band, and figure out which instrument
is the one (or two) which is furthest away from the correct timing. And move them closer to the others.

This keeps the organic changes in timing together as the band intended.

Cheers

Hey Nick,

Yeah that's what I personally prefer as well. Keeps everything as real as possible. But sometimes you get really difficult clients/jobs and have to do the big editing thing.... a necessary evil these days I guess....

Smile

Nick
