Anyone have any experience with focusrite repair shops in the USA? I just picked up a used ISA two. Went to check for a fuse before I powered on and noticed a completely blown electrolytic cap. Not the bulging type, rather the completely shredded variety. Smallish in size near the ins and outs of unit. C243 to be exact.

Don't really want to power the unit on. Would prefer just to send it in for repair. Just wondering if any tapeoppers have any experience in US with focusrite repair shops. I found thermalrelief.com who I guess specialize in focusrite. They are in Nevada.

Any shops on the east coast? Or better yet Nashville?

Any thoughts on nature of my blown cap also much appreciated.

if it's near the input, it could just be a filter cap on the 48V rail for phantom power that may have been stuffed backwards, though this should be rated 63V or higher so shouldn't be too small in size. But yeah just open her up an see if there's a polarity indication on the pcb silkscreen and if the cap polarity matches or if it was stuffed backwards. Otherwise... any local repair tech worth their salt should be capable of a simple repair job like that. Shouldn't be a job worthy of sending all the way to focusrite for.
