Post by trodden » Tue Jun 10, 2003 12:47 pm

alright! i'm sick and tired of dealing with this sampler i bought online that came to me broken. 600 for the freakin thing and i've spent another 150 on trying to bring it back to life... below is a copy of the email i sent to emu asking for help, they're freakin worthless.... so i turn to my beloved tape op boards for a guiding light... please someone... i'm posting this in the computer section as well...

it could be because of the power up sequence

new hard drives go thru all kinds of power-on self testing (POST) and sometimes the older machine will tryto access them while they are testing

the host machine would not get a response so the host thinks the drives are not there.

here are some things to try

1) the the sampler for a setting for the drive power up delay
2) try to change the access sequence to check other drives first
3) check the disk for a post switch (or jumper setting)
4) use an older disk - it may do less POST and maybe ready faster
5) check if your drive has "cable detect" jumper setting - change to hard wired (jumpered) "master"

sorry to not have anything more concrete for you
