How easy of a fix would this be? Would be similar to replacing a volume or tone pot in a guitar I guess. How would I know what to replace it with. I'm a total idiot when it comes to electronics. The crackle is more than annoying, i have to give the knob a magic tap to get signal sometimes. (ch1 that is.... channel 2 is not as bad) _________________ a spoon full weighs a ton

First, try turning the knob back and forth repeately to try to clean out any dirt inside the potentiometer. Usually knob crackling is just dirt.
If you are getting signal intermittently, you might have a bad solder joint. Check the connections to the potentiometer to see if they might be the culprit.
Just a thought. Next? |
