another band website with free mp3s

Post by JES » Sun Jun 15, 2003 7:34 am

Hi All,

FINALLY, my band has our website up. If you've got suggestions for future mixes, I'm all ears (as Ross Perot once said). Otherwise, I just hope you enjoy. Except for mastering and printing, it was all done at home.

Best,

really enjoyed the songs... different... very post-rock i guess... moving slowly though has a great doors kinda vibe to it... which i guess is kind of a weird thing to say considering no bass in the doors... but just the way the lyrics are delivered... and the slow groove... that song was the best of the bunch in my opinion... all and all glad i gave them a listen...
You can?t make your music good. You can?t try to be good. You can try to be present and you can try to remain open so what is going to speak to you can speak through you.

He's quoting Hedges.

As for the tunes, I cranked up Rumble Strips to get my morning started. I like the slow build, slow evolution. Very pleasing sounds (I know that sounds like tepid praise but isn't meant that way).

Moving Slowly is a nice one to follow Rumble, upping the ante with vocals and a sparser arrangement, capturing a nice space.

Warning is more goodness with a cool splatty bass thing.

Heaven's Blindness is another nice one. Reminds me a little of Doors, Joy Division, Interpol, Japan; but you've definitely got your own thing going here.

Nice stuff. Keep doing it.
