are you looking for a stand alone turntable pre, or a pre with a good turntable section?

if you are looking for a stand alone, let me add that i want to know some recomendations too. my dynaco pas-3 sounds pretty good with CDs but i think i hate the LP pre....

I have a stand alone component turn-table. an MCP with an AT needle.

So far the fidelity has been great, you can tell stuff is in there but that it just needs to be hotter to get it out.....if that makes any sence!

what i meant was a standalone phono pre, as opposed to a preamp with a phono pre circuit...

somehow i think those standalone phono pres are the way to go... but i dunno...

Anybody who likes high quality phono audio and loves dealing with pretentious jackasses should definitely check out Needle Doctor in Minneapolis.

Is there Turn-Table Audiophiles that are not pretentious jackasses!
I think I would be worried if they were'nt!

It always amazes me how cool the best engineers really are, yet the guys who think they know everything about playing that engineerd material are the biggest azzholes in the world! ever try and go into a Bang&Olufsen retail store? I nearly came to fisttacuffs with one of the guys in Seattle. Does this guy in his polo sweater really think he knows anything?

hey otto, i think the general recording would have been a safe place for this question... it covers general questions, comments and ideas about recording, audio, music, etc.

so it seems even stuff on topic to ANY gear and music related items is perfectly fine in there.

anyway, sorry i can't help you otherwise ;)
