Westend Recording studios, Kansas City.

I worked out of this place for a while. The owner is amazing, and he only hires good engineers. Great place, great gear. Lots of cool, unique compressors and mic pre's made by the owner himself! (mike miller).

If you need to record, and you are in the midwest, check this out:

i'll second that

mike just renovated the studio A tracking rooms

unbelievable acoustics

it's small.....but it's VERY focused across the whole spectrum

great isolation, great sounds....

and his modified MCI desk sounds really great now with th fred forrsell (sp?) op amps and jensen trannies in it.

Man, I bet it sounds killer with the custom summing amp. Of course mike took it further....

I have the John Hardy 990c, and mike finds the weirdest, most awesome discrete opamps out there right now.. Prototypes no less!! of course. Mike is a wizard. Really.

Joel,
Didn't you also work at City Spark? Just wondering, cause I interned there for awhile. Now I run a Studio in KC. www.audiotriad.com

Thanks,
Brad

I never worked at city spark. I dont know what that is.

I had a marginally functional place called "trainwreck" out there for a while, but that flooded.

That and westend.
