1) Actual book may soon be published, or

2) Whole project has been abandoned, or

3) John Ashcroft has seized the site for security reasons, or

4) Book is being changed to "Recording Staind," or

5) The site is down for maintenance.

Dood, that's easy. Align yourself with douchebag/label head from shitty 90's rap/rock band. Book time in studio (check to make sure said studio has autotune, beat detective, studio musicians, ovations, re-runs of Dr. Phil, etc). Listen to and plagarize the entire Alice In Chains back catalog. And last but most importantly, YARL YOUR ASS OFF!

This is the one I meant. Kevin swore it would be out by the end of this year. And just in time for Christmas would be cool.

Recording Staind...

It's down for a reason, but not a big one, and we're busy working, rather than re-doing the site. The book IS almost done. Really close, I think 85% written. Getting some cool photos together for the final version. Thanks for paying attention!

We hope it will be worth the wait. Every week something new (to us) comes up and sets us off on a new path (Anyone have photos of Pathe Marconi Studios in Paris??), but this probably makes the book better. When the last Chapter is written, we send it out to all "the guys" (those who are helping us) for additions, changes. Once the have approved that, it will be "a book" - and everyone will be some kinda "expert" on things they knew nothing about the week before !!

In other words, Christmas 2005!

Well, I'll still be here...

>>Christmas 2005! <<

That is not likely to be accurate. As I said, the writing is nearly done and we are licensing the last photos soon.

No prediction, it will be done when it's done, but that statement is not likely to be close, so it may bum people out!

We are well-connected with the Tape Op staff already: Kevin did some cover artwork already for the mag. I just saw two of the honchos at the NAMM Show. We hope to do something with them when the book is ready - like maybe take out an ad ;)

We are still working a lot (on the book and other things). If you knew the goodies that were popping up, you'd be even more impatient, so... just be patient... VERY happy we didn't finish last month!

Kevin has just updated the page with a mailing list - you'll be emailed when the book is ready. I'm sure we'll also mention it here when the date is close.
