Here's a French dude who did his whole record in Tracktion, including sequencing the string samples, which sound pretty flippin' good to my ears.

You know, I gave up the whole "this or that software isn't worthy and sucks" way of thinking when I heard the Manitoba record I really like. He did it in Acid, which I thought of as a toy program for no good reason really.

Yup, it doesn't matter what you have it's how you use it.

I'm still getting "Sorry, the Tracktion promotion expired Dec 31st". Bummer.

Is there a more recent link?

I'll go check out Krystal too, thanks.

Rigsby's link seems okay to me. Maybe you're seeing a cached version of something on your own 'puter. 16 more hours now go get ahold of that puppy!

My complaints about Tracktion are only trivial, like the MIDI sync problem (to be corrected in the for-pay update) and the rather ghastly, gloomy skin colors. It is a rather lovely program for the "money"

Amateurs using protools and cubase always seem overwhelmed by those progs; Tracktion is quite hassle-free.

Man, time's running out i know, i refreshed the link but it's still coming up the same, shit...i guess i'll try deleting the cookies.

...okay done that, but still getting the same message. My girlfriend and I were bummed out last night when we found we couldn't download it, after this little bit of excitement at the prosect of getting it after all, it looks like we're going to be a little bummed out again.

Help anyone?

The mystery continues: It works in firefox OR IE, cookies or no cookies, but only if you click on the very link in the post about halfway down the 2nd page of this thread. If you retype the link in the url line on your browser it won't work. I have tried it on a few computers and even went all the way through the registration process, hassle free, today. And a friend did it as I coached him by telephone.

Keep trying, even if it's already the 15th when you read this.

I suspect that the above link won't even expire tomorrow. It's some strange kooky kinky computer voodoo situation. Very creepy.

I'm wondering if maybe it's something to do with being in the UK, don't know how or why though. I'll give it another try today just in case.

Audacity is free and fairly useable and has VST support.
