Anyone know If i can run windows on my G5

Post by texlop » Wed Jan 26, 2005 12:34 am

I was wondering if it was possible to run windows on a mac.
has anyone tryed a windows emulator. Here is a link to one http://www.iemulator.com/ I'm beginning to regret having bought this computer when I rerally need a PC to do my school work. Programs that come with the books only run on PC and all I have is a G5.
For some good new music check out The Medusas

Virtual PC 7 is the way to go - it runs pretty respectively, though I would double check that the programs you're trying to use will actually run with it.

Do you guys know any downsides to using a virtual PC. Will this affect my Macs performance in anyway?

It will certainly eat up RAM and resources. You are basically running two computers at once. You cannot run any audio programs nor high end video games with it but all your school and work stuff that is windows only will run just fine. As of version 7 I haven't found any "normal" windows application (even those that are custom written only for windows) that won't run. Everything works great. On a dual G5 the performance should be incredible.

It will only affect your macs performance if you've got Virtual PC running.
