Is this a little dry to you?

Post by YOUR KONG » Thu Jan 27, 2005 7:09 am

(Wow, my first submission to this forum.)

Check out "Shana's Tea" at my MySpace account (it's a flash player, FYI). Any comments? The verb is playing tricks with me - it sounded good in my software but it seems to have disappeared when mp3'd.

(disclaimer: you can listen to the other track, too, but the levels got all whack on that. All technology is rising up against me this week).

sounds like you're working heavily with a computer and live stuff, but i feel like the 'live' quality of what you're going for is being lost. is there a way you can play out your programmed stuff through something else to warm it up some before bringing it back. a decent preamp goes a long way on programmed drums and makes them feel less cold and brittle, i find. same thing with the computer synthesizers, i feel a good preamp takes a lot of the bad edge and aliasing off of them and makes them less piercing in the eardrums.

everything else is well put together.

Hm - great advice, thanks - I'll experiment with that.
