Pretty much all the free plugins of note are listed in kvr-vst's directories.

You're not going to find free Direct X plugins. I use Sound Forge and had to buy the Waves bundle (+$1000!). Try the Musician's Bundle at about $149. I just bought the VST to RTAS wrapper and can now enjoy VST freebies in Pro Tools but... Direct X is a different story. :(

Am I missing something? My version of sound forge has VST support.

Hmmmm.... I don't think so. If that's true, let me know how you're doing it. A wrapper? As far as I know, and I've been using the program everyday for the past 6 years, it Direct X only.

Now... I might be missing something, God knows it's happened in the past!!!!

wow I'm a dork, I use a lot of VSt when mixing, but apparently not when I'm "mastering"
I never noticed that they were all DX plugs
I do have a wrapper for it, but looks like my go-to chain Waves/PSP/Timeworks are all DX

DUH
sorry

so in that case analogx.com the only direct x site I know of that is specifically DX

although a lot of the stuff you find will have both flavors

good luck

There are the free blue DX plugs, but I'm afraid that's about it.

If you upgrade to 8.0, it is supposed to be coming with VST support.
