I too am looking to upgrade my overheads from a pair MXL's - some 990's

I want to get a nice pair of Oktava Mk012's as they seem so recmended and certainly cheaper than most. However I keep seeing people calling them 100 a pair mics etc. At one time Guitar Center was almost giving them away but now they seem very hard to find.
I see some people selling "hand matched" pairs on ebay for abt 400.00!

Can anyone recommend someplace to buy a good pair?

Thanks! :)

yeesh i've been upgrading my overheads for years. i have about 6. they all still suck at one time or another...

buy a bunch for different situations. the a pair of 603's and something mellower could take you a long way...

I use TLM103's for overheads and I like them better than the Oktava but they are a lot more money
