Spray Adhesive for Foam - Alternatives
Spray Adhesive for Foam - Alternatives
I bought a can of that spray adhesive made by Auralex to install foam for my recording environment. Its pretty expensive ($20 a can), and the can didnt last very long. Im just wondering if there are any known cheaper alternatives for installing foam, like some type of industrial spray adhesive, like something you would find at Home Depot. I know, Im a cheapskate, but I cant afford to go through 6 or 7 cans of this stuff just to finish my small room.
Re: Spray Adhesive for Foam - Alternatives
In my new room I adhered all my foam with heavy duty poster pins. They are about two and a half inches long and can hold up to 20 lbs each, I believe...it took 4 to 5 for each piece, but at least I can move stuff around if I want...

Elmers wood glue. I made 3 diy gobos like in the tape op article a couple years ago- hollow wooden door, a little base so it stands up by itself, and foam panels on one side. They get abused regularly and I haven't had a single foam panel come loose at all.

3M makes some good spray adhesives that are about $5.00 a can at any local fabric store. I used this to attach some rigid fiberglass to some gobos I was making. Hope this helps.

I have some great little baffles from the old Bad Animals, and they are just a chunk of fiberglass with some dense foam adhered to it, wrapped in heavy duty pink fabric. Throw them anywhere.
Actually, I am going to turn them into a cloud someday...
