Looking for indie drummer in Los Angeles

Post by ibmat » Tue Feb 15, 2005 12:28 am

We're looking for a drummer in the Los Angeles area. We have just finished recording an album and we need a new drummer. Obviously we're hoping to find someone that's pretty good, the drum parts are fairly demanding, lots of interesting time signatures and stuff. If your into programming then that would be a definite plus. Vintage gear is also a plus (doesn't have to be vintage but we're definitely not looking for a drummer with an 18 piece "custom" kit).

We're into newer stuff like: Blonde Redhead, TV on the Radio, Black Heart Procession, Liars, The Walkmen, White Magic, Antelope, American Analog Set, Sea and Cake, Tortoise, Glass Candy, Deerhoof, Broken Social Scene, Radiohead, Modest Mouse, The Shins, 90 Day Men, Clinic. Labels: Sub Pop, Matador, Merge, Thrill Jockey, Touch and Go.

And older stuff like: The Chameleons, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Sound (not the Sounds from Sweden), The Cure, Gang of Four, Joy Division

NOTE: We are NOT making an attempt to sound "retro", we're a band that's definitely attempting to move forwards not backwards.

We want to be a real "indie" band that's on an indie label that tours and stuff, if your looking for a paying gig or if you don't like practicing then please don't respond and if you do not have similar influences please do not respond. Finding a drummer that is cool with not getting paid in Los Angeles is pretty much impossible and finding a drummer that's into the same types of bands seems to be even more difficult to find in Los Angeles for some reason.

if your interested please contact us at haron.t@lycos.com
