Sadly the few I have seen go on eBay went for quite a bit (really surprised me!). You can check the ended auctions to see how much they have gone for. I can't offer you either of the pair I have, but did want to mention that you can pick up one of the Nady RSM-2 (same factory, same pouch, similar design) for $179.99 w/ free shipping through Musiciansfriend.com right now.
Just wanted to give you a heads up in the case you can't get one of the TOMB ribbons, or can't afford the $$$ someone might ask for it.

all the best

following on from FUM's shameless (i am shocked!) plug - i have one of FUM's shinybox 46's and i love it. i plan on getting a second soon. especially been loving it as a drum overhead!

so you could always give one of those suckers a try - comes with a well funky hardcase too.

She might think it's a waxing spa.

okay...so i'm thinking of going the shinybox route as well. listening to sound samples, i liked the sound of the 23 more than the 46. but from the descriptions it sounds like you don't need as much gain on the 46. how can you tell if the pre you have will be adequate enough for the 23? i have an aphex 107...which has alot more room than my audio buddy. it has 65db of gain. is that enough for the 23?

65 dB should get you there.

I'm using an API like pre, and am typically using 55-60dB of gain(it's capable of 66 dB)..
