Circuit Bending

Post by mlaargh » Wed Nov 02, 2005 7:57 pm

Discuss.

I've done a "Billy Bass" and a "Speak and Spell (of course)"

Anyone into it?

I tried to circuit bend this Casio SK-1 but it isn' working corretly. I am currently practicing soldering because I am really not very good at it at all. I bought Reed Ghazala's book, and that is helping a lot.

Yeah I recommend Ghazala's book too. It's surprisingly good.

Hey mlaargh, I did a Yamaha VSS-30. I shouldn't have, it's valuable now apparently, but I paid 5 bucks. Sort of fried the sampling chip unfortunately...but it still makes awesome sounds. There are about a million bend points in there.

Casper Electronics has been the ultimate oogle-fest for circuit-bending that I've seen. Extremely well-executed work.

I find the idea of deconstrunting an instrument and getting totally new sound, that it was never intended to make, out of it, exciting. Also I think not spending a lot of money on something that sounds great exciting. I really don't get a thrill out of spending a lot of money on something.
