What a bummer!

I loved that place.

I played on somebody's record there, though I canot remember whose...
Also played on a demo there for some publishing deal. I remember the "artist" but not their name...

Loved the room though.

Is Sound on Sound mergin with some other studio? Right Track maybe? Are they going to run both businesses from one space?

Yeah, they've moved a couple pieces of gear and some staff to Right Track.

you know, while its sort of a bummer, it is somewhat cool to see mergers like this, better than just locking the door and leaving a huge pool of clients to scramble for themselves. I would imagine this to be a business model we'll see again if things continue on the path they've been on.

yep, we (sound on sound) are *joining forces* with right track. we've moved into right track and brought our 2 SSLs, augspurgers, and mics (and staff)...
so far so good.

it is sad but it's kinda cool too.

the majority of the sos stuff is currently in rt's storage space - they have a shitload of storage space! we brought over all of our consoles - one ssl has already been installed in studio c replacing their ssl. i'm pretty sure what we're not using will be auctioned off, or is in the process of being auctioned off. but i actually don't know the details about that.

i'm like a jack of all trades at sos, not a lot of engineering though (most of my clients can't afford it) - i'm a manager-type, a tech-type, an IT-type, a webdesigner-type, an all-around problem-solver-type...
