buffering question help?

Post by klute » Fri Nov 04, 2005 9:24 am

Can anyone help me with this problem? When bouncing to disc, and sometimes just listening or recording with ProTools LE, my ibook G4 keeps telling me to either reduce or increase my buffer size due to other CPU tasks. When I increase buffer size it tells me to decrease it and vice versa. Darn it.

I used to just minimize every other possible variable when bouncing. I would put everything in block mode, turn off color coding for the tracks, delete any unused tracks, consolidate ANY edits, hide a bunch of tracks, maybe even print a couple of the really CPU intense plug in tracks so you can take those plugs off, THEN bounce.
