NAB / IEC MRL ?

im not sure if this fits here but im going to ask anyway.

would using an MRL with a NAB EQ setting on a machine setup for IEC cause any major issues.

It might. You can use a 30ips AES tape at 15ips to callibrate for IEC/CCIR. Go to the MRL site There's tons of info there.[/url]

using any standard of mrl tape to align for a different standard without being aware of the proper offsets can definitely have an adverse effect on what you are trying to do (setup your machine properly)...

but....you can use any standard mrl tape (iec say) to setup for another (nab say)...

you just need to read & understand page 8 of this document...

that is exactly what i was looking for. i even scanned through that actual .pdf, i guess i just did it a little too fast.
