Free RTAS/ TDM plugs?

Post by joel hamilton » Sun Nov 06, 2005 6:52 pm

Anybody know of any cool free plug in downloads for RTAS/ TDM (HD)???

There are so many for VST and AU I may have to get the VST> RTAS adaptor thingy. I wonder how that thing is....

I am really looking for the kind of plugs that DONT try to be hardware. i have tons of really great hardware, i want some outlandish filters or FX or stuff for destruction....

you could get pluggo jr., which has 10 i think.. plugins. RTAS compatible. and then there are a whole lot of free plugs that run under that engine...

This is a cool one:

You can do a google search under 'free rtas' and a bunch of stuff will come up.

I use the VST>RTAS adapter in LE and it works great.

I've looked for a while and I haven't come across many 'interesting' free RTAS plugs with the exception of the pluggo ones noted. VSTs are out of control though.

It aint free but there is an RTAS version of Spektral Delay for OSX only. That thing is completely amazing and a total departure from hardware. download the demo and get your credit card out.

Phasetone @ Tritone digital (soon theyre gona put up a freebie of Color tone which could be cool!!
Inspector is really handy - elemental audio
The Vinyl plug is really cool for slaughtering sonics!!!
The free batch from pluggo is cool, but has started to cause PT to quit recently everytime i load a plug
On the D.U.C run a search under Pluggo, theres some good plugs made by a guy called JkAudio (including an audiosweeeeet convolution reverb (!?!?) which you can use under the pluggo runtime programme!

But im gona say this about the Pluggo Runtime & the Vst-adapter...there are soo many freebee plugs worth checking out which you could use with these,in fact, one could go to heaven on installing loads of plugs & create problems for thyself!!So carefull now...one at a time, but if you want stuff that reaks havoc, definatly get the Wrapper!!

Cant think of anything else----too early in the mornin

FWIW- be very cautious with free plugs. I installed a few and started having weird problems right afterwards, system preference setting changed, not saving sessions right, all kinds of crazy stuff. Ended up deleting everything and installing from scratch.
If you have something like norton ghost you might want to do a backup image of your hard drive before installing the plugs.

Nice topic. I am always on the look out for free plug-ins on Pro Tools for Mac as well. All the ones I have, have already been mentioned. I recommend the JK-audio IR's. The only thing that sucks is you can only use it in Audio Suite.

Thanks! Got the three from nomad. They are really fun! The "sweeper" one is totally fun on weyboard type stuff, along with amp farm, or actually reamping out of reason>PTHD>nomad sweeper thingy>reamp>amp>back in= sounds like a REALLY cool pedal on a weird keyboard patch that is impossible in "the real world."

FUN!

Yeah, Jack (JKAudio) does some cool stuff. He and I emailed a bunch when he started doing plug-ins, he's smart and friendly. Lives in Warsaw, IIRC.

His site: http://www.sonoria.pl/jk/

Cheers,
Leigh
