Better than blowing an ear drum. You can replace tweeters.

You rock too much, Chris.

That sucks. On what?

I blew TWO 8" woofers on the same side of my V88's. I was bummed.
They are expensive to replace. I listen too loud I guess sometimes.

I must be the only one.....

Which reminds me of a joke....

Two guys go out drinking and get really really blotto...
The next day one guy calls the other to see how he's doing...
His friend replies" We'll, not to good, my wife and kids left me last night because I got home and blew chunks right in front of them"...His friend replied" How can your wife and kids get that mad just because you threw up" His friend replied.."you don't understand, chunks is my dog"...

Thank you..I'm here all week...enjoy the buffet....

I like to tell people it went while I was listening to the new Paul Motian album (which is really funny if you know that record--it's really mellow and dark), but in all honesty, I created a feedback loop by accident while messing with something. Usually my speakers are pretty forgiving, but not this time. They're B&W 805s, so I have to get the replacement form a dealer. I went through a woofer earlier in the year and my local dealer was really good about getting me a replacement fast (I just replaced the pair, which I'll do with the tweeters, too). It just sucks. I've got two mix sessions this weekend and I really like mixing with them.

Damn, $400! (I'm going ahead and replacing both so that I have a spare should it happen again.)

I blew a tweeter in one of my Wharfedale Diamond 7.1's, called customer service to purchase a replacement, they sent me one FREE via 3 day priority mail. That's pretty good customer service.
