Looking for Tape Based Studio in Brooklyn for Early Dec

Post by wayout » Mon Nov 07, 2005 12:28 pm

Hey folks...

I need four days in a studio near williamsburg / greenpoint for early December.
Looking for reccomendations please. (even if its your studio)

The band wants these things:
Tape Machine- 16 track 1 inch or 24 Tr 2 inch
Full drums - Hardware /cymbals
Selection of amps
Rhodes (and/or) piano (and/or) Wurlitzer

We will be doing the standard tracking of Drums Bass and Guitar all at once.
Isolation would be nice, but not a deal breaker.
Then Keyboard and vox dubs, dump to hard disk. Thats it.

Thanks for any reccomendations.

check out this place www.seasidelounge.com. it's not quite williamsburg (it's in park slope) and they use 2" 16tk not 1", but everything else sounds like what you need.

I've got the 2", amps, drums Rhodes and a nice selection of pres, compressors and other outboard gear.

I'm in Manhattan, so if Brooklyn is about transportation, then my place won't work. If it's about rate, I'll be on tour that week, so I can probably cut you a better deal with my second engineer who will be working for me that week.

We did a record there over the summer. Studio A had 16 track 2", and 2 track 1/2", both A and B had 8 track 1". Nice place.

Yeah, but it being mentioned, Seaside seems to have the right sizes, but the wrong amount of tracks for this young gentleman.

why don't you check out excello recording! www.excellorecording.com. They have everything you need. Just did the new Heroine Sheiks record with Shannon from the Cows. And I'll be there, maybe...

i believe their mixdown decks are 1/4" (at least when i was there), but yeah, it is a nice place. the live room in studio A sounds great.

(they link one of my songs on their example pages too, but that didn't influence my endorsement  )
