We just lost our previous drummer. We've been together 4 years, have 3 piece horn section, vocal, bass, and guitar ;
practice space, (extra drum set at practice space so drummer doesnt have to haul stuff each practice), full music book (about 60 tunes right now), own PA, recording possibilities (at my place). Pretty good band and a good bunch of guys.
Were ~39-48y.o.....if that matters..
We do standard jazz, swing, as well as some "neo swing" like BBVD, Indigo swing etc...Some rock swing , shuffle like Colin James....etc..
Practices are in Northgate.
We rehearse about 2 -3 x month, play about 10 - 15x /year. We're looking to pick things up this year, bumbershoot, perhaps travel now and then etc.
We all have other jobs, and this is pretty much a hobby band, but I think we're pretty good.
We typically get about $1400 for gigs ($200 per player)...occasionally less (like at festivals) and sometimes some charity gigs.
We do weddings, corporates, parties, festivals.
drop me a line if you're interested,
or IF YOU KNOW someone else who might be.
We'll be doing "tryouts" this fall.
Thanks!
Mark
Seattle Swing band seeking drummer
Re: Seattle Swing band seeking drummer
BUmP!
If you know anyone who knows anyone who is a drummer who sounds like they could and would want to do this, please forward me their name/# or forward this message to them.
We've had a few nice auditions, but nothings made the deal.
Read the message again, we got a nice deal worked out for the drummer who can do this.
happy everything to everybody
