This may be a bit too weak to support a big mic, but if you want one of these adjustable arms for, say, an SDC on an acoustic, do what I did. Cheapo Home Depot lamp arm attached to Gary Young's shockmount with screws. The arm is plastic, so it's very quiet. I just drilled a hole in my homemade rack cart and it fits perfectly.
