Black Friday deals?!

Post by caz » Wed Nov 23, 2005 7:05 am

Dearest TapeOppers,

A good friend of mine is all worked up about Black Friday deals, i.e., the sales to be had the day after Thanksgiving.

Has anyone noticed any good PC deals? I need to grab a new 'puter for the studio as mine being over 2 years old is totally decrepit!

cheerio,

Be sure to get a paper tomorrow and look for you local Compurgay or Fry's ad's as they will have the most screaming deals and be sure to get there EARLY as most of these deals expire around 11 am or so. Or look here
These sites have some info:

As an aside, I love how the market has done some serious semantic redeployment here. In the past anything named Black ___ meant economic meltdown of stock markets and financial ruin for lots of folks. I guess It still does spell financial ruin for some folks, but Best Busy has 24 season 1, 2 and 3 for only $19!!

The reason it's called "Black Friday" is because it's the first day a lot of retailers start making a profit. In other words, out of the red and into the black.

Well over at best buy we are no longer allowed to call it black friday, it is officially "Green Friday", feel free to decide if this refers to christmass or money, knowing Best Buy its the later.....which by the way leads me to my second point dont buy computers from best buy, really dont buy much of anything from best buy....but if you do dont buy any accessories, $30 for a usb cable (thats about $25 in profit by the way) is BS.

I'd wait until December 26.
