lush plugins

Post by JES » Wed Nov 30, 2005 7:00 am

Hi All,

The world of compression and EQ plugins has been booming for the last couple years. Not to mention reverbs! Stuff sounds way better than it used to.

But I'm still after good modulation effects (MAS or AU, please) like chorus, flanger, etc. I have a couple interesting phasers (my favorite is Deep Phase Nine) and of course there are all those wild effects that have no analogue analog. But what are people using for leslie sounds, flangers, choruses and other "lush" sounds in the digital realm these days?

Thanks.

--JES

I'm loving the Roland Dimension D for the UAD-1.

"mondo mod" by waves. I love the AM and FM modulation. That plug really can help with some serious "width."

Ditto on MondoMod. Enigma is really cool too.

The Moogerfooger stuff is nice.

Yo JES!

I'm a huge fan of MDA. AU and VST. All free.

Particular favorites are the Leslie and the dub-delay (delay with LFO'd frequency).

For unusual creative-type plugs I'm partial to the Ohmforce products. They have tons of automatable parameters and lfo's. Plus they sound cool and they are very affordable.

Kjaerhus has the Classic plugins available for free. The delay and chorus are pretty nice.

I swear that Ohmforce delay is made for Nigel Godrich.

Ditto on the Ohm Force plugs-really great sounding and capable of some really wild settings.

I found a cool phaser at kvraudio.com called Solstice.

Hey Thanks for all the plugin suggestions. This will keep me busy for quite sometime. My bandmate just said he wanted a bunch more effects on everything, and who am I to say no?

Best,

Thanks for the great suggestions everyone. I particularly enjoyed the Cycling one. I'm gonna have to try the others! Has anyone tried the new Eventide Plugs?

On the free tip I have really been digging that cow delay.... The one with the LPF with resonance (!), it just sounds really good and I usually filter plugin delays a bunch anyway. Nice to see someone made a delay with a filterbank style filter right there...

AND it is free! I got the VST>RTAS (fx expansion) thingy because of that and the digitalphishphones stuff...

Did you try the "Endorphin" Compressor from Digitafishphones? I absolutely love that plug.
