Modding a Spirit M-Series - cleaning up meter noise

Post by leigh » Tue Dec 06, 2005 8:03 pm

I recently finished a mod to my Spirit M12, adding a toggle switch which turns of the LED metering. Why would a person do such a thing? Well, every time one of those LEDs turned on or off, it sputtered a little bit of noise onto the output of the board (well, the headphone and monitor outs, anyway). Not enough to notice under many circumstances, but with certain material it was really quite annoying (long sustained bass notes, in one case).

This mod is documented here:

Cheers,
Leigh
