Using Behringer BCF2000 with Sony Vegas?

I'm attempting to set up a BCF2000 control surface with Sony Vegas 6.0, then later try to get two of these working together. I'm having nothing but headaches getting this to work properly...or at least getting it to STAY working properly. One minute, I get the controller to move the software faders, then later it seems to have lost it's settings. Even though I can sometimes get the faders moving under control, they don't do anyhting such as write the automation moves. Very frustrating!

I'm not sure if it's the USB MIDI hookup that's causing problems or not. Standard MIDI connections seem to make the whole thing go haywire. Even getting the controller to "learn" funcions is not working out well for me. I've read others who seem to just hook it up and they're off running in Vegas. I wish I had that kind of luck.

Do any of you have suggestions or are willing to share their BCF settings file?
