What Did You Work On Today? 12-26-05

So what's everyone up to on the day after Chrsitmas, first full day of Hanukkah, etc.?

By the way, I'd like to publicly thank Continental Airlines for giving my girlfriend and I the gift of a free one-night stay in the Newark airport last night.

Having spent some time in that airport, I give you all my sympathy. That sucks totally.
I visited the metro Richmond zoo, back in my home state (Virginia!), and did nothing audio-related other than read the board a little.

Worked at the record store all afternoon. Surprisingly busy day. Am listening to The Eels "Blinking Lights" now while I close and am digging it much.

This morning, worked around the house a bit, then went on a long walk with the dog.

Tomorrow, I order a Shinybox 23C!

Worked on tweaking the new studio setup, around the new G5 and ProTools 7. Nice to have some seldom-used stuff out of the studio and out of the way. Right now, listening back over several CDs worth of client mixes to see what would represent me best to a potential remix client.

laid down some lead and bg vox for a few songs with my band's singer tonight. we also had some "fun" sequencing a part to a song where the band was a little "loose."

I rearranged and cleaned part of my space. Laid down a guide track for a song we are recording soon.

The Wif and I went to see my good friend Cara from college and her new baby, Sam. Michele (the wif) was at the birth as a doula, but I haven't had a chance to meet him. We hung out and played with Sam, then drove back home and exchanged our presents.

The large print giveth, and the small print taketh away.

Did a remix of a friend's song for fun. Made a mess of it and used some pretty obvious (to me at least) samples, but it was fun.

Didn't do shit. But last Wednesday I recorded Dr. Know and Darryl from Bad Brains, Chino from Deftones and Chuck Treece doing a cover of the Brains' classic "Rock For Light."

That day did not suck one bit.
