Some stuff for your ears

Post by RodC » Fri Dec 30, 2005 3:00 pm

OK I aint no pro like most of you here, but you can check out what we have done in our studio recently.

This is my Sons band, my youngest plays bass and sings, my eldest plays guitar.

Some of you have ask about my M7 preamps, the guitars, Drum OH and some of the VOX was recorded using them. Check out the guitar solo in Feel Tomorrow Come (around 5:00 into it) I like the tone there (M7 - Sen 609 mic). Also ElPadre tone was pretty good.

Just go to the discography section, it may look funny for awhile, Im in the middle of updating their site.

It kind of reminds me of The Mob, without the speed.

The recording sounds really good. I'm psyched about these pres. All I've had time to do so far is unscrew the stuff so I could flip the little white switch for the inputs. I'm not a fan of that kind of metal, so I won't comment on the music, except to say that it's always impressive when kids can get their shit together to play something tight, or just to be doing it at all. Your sons are lucky to have you as a dad.

Thanks ubertar, you may like "Wide Awake" its a bit more mellow. The guitar solo in it was recorded with the M7s and one of the guitar tracks. I'm blessed to have them as kids, they are only 14 and 16, but I think they are pretty talented. (I'm sure im biased lol)

Still not my taste, but hey, I'm an old fart too (35). No kids of my own yet, but I'm proud of my students. I ordered new caps for the roberts pres-- mostly high voltage 20uF. Once those get here, I'll hit the mods full force.

I guess I'm old then, I still listen to Bluegrass! Sounds great on a mix cd with some BLS and Motorhead!
