This started as a group buy maybe a year ago. You might also have heard of the ShinyBox ribbon mic - more or less the same thing from a different forum, a group buy that turned into a business.

Decent mic, definitely worth the price if you don't have a ribbon mic and are interested in the sound.

Ahh. . . I should have known that a build your own ribbon mic kit might be a liitle too good to be true. It does look like a nice deal, though.

Then there were nuts like me who were down for ten - I got 4 for myself and another 6 for the school's mic locker.

Was there anyone else that picked up more than 2?

I only bought one, and from the Prodigy-Pro buy at that.

It took a while for the mics to show up in the US and get shipped out to everybody, and between the incredibly long delays and TapeOp being down there was some wailing and gnashing of teeth going on.
