hey evan..sorry to be so negative..but I just want to keep a balance with all the optimism..balance is important..life will kick you in the balls when you least expect it..


like I said its a social thing..make a lot of friends as many as you can..go out of your way to be involved in the local music and recording community..offer help to all the studios..friend the local engineers..play in bands..thats a big one..I think the social aspect is the most important thing in being successful in the way your talking about..

Thanks for your frankness, Shawn. I'm aware that I can't expect projects to just come to me, and I'm planning on working for them in the ways you suggested -- that's why I'm asking these questions while I'm still in school, have the time to think things out, and build my skills and social circle before I take the full dive.
