a link to about 450 of my songs

Post by waltertore » Sun Jan 08, 2006 9:12 pm

I have been learning how to record myself for the a couple of years now, and have learned a lot from this and other forums. I make up all my words and music, as I go along, and call it spontobeat. I have been doing this for about 45 years. It hasn't made me rich or famous, but I sure have a good time doing it! Most of the stuff here, is with my 1 man band. I use a double kick pedal, that I modified, to hit the bass and snare drums with my left foot, a high hat on my right foot, guitar, harp on a rack, and vocals. There is also a bunch of songs with my bassist and drummer, solo harp, acoustic guitar solo, and some friends stuff. If anyone is into mississippi john hurt, go down a ways, and you will find songs by john4y. He is john's nephew, and was raised with him and skip james. There are no overdubs, or retakes, because I can't remember what I just did. Here is a photo of my set up, and a link to the songs. Walter

Walter,
Welcome aboard! Took a listen to one of your songs and I sounded great, went to listen to more and now the player won't fire up. I dig why you like music. The essence of pure fun I'd say.

Take care,

Wow, that's an amazingly full sound for one dude, no loops or drum machines. You really get a nice groove going all by yourself.

I'm also always intersted to hear music that doesn't rhyme. Very cool.

Thanks everyone for the responses! It is great to get to know new people. I really have learned a lot, reading the posts here. I just got back from los angeles, (filmed for a french documentary/recording with patti sterling) and will be listening to links posted here, in the next few days. Walter
