Just watched this documentary by Werner Herzog on DVD the other day.
The movie is super good.
But being a musician and an engineer I was just as impressed with the special feature which showed how they made the music to go along with the movie.

I think it was like an hour long. Tons of great studio footage. Richard Thompson playing some amazing spontaneous guitar. Jim O'Rourke playing some cool plunky sounding prepared piano. Stand up bass and cello "brawling" with each other.

Also cool was seeing Herzog who isn't a musician, trying to coax the most appropriate performance from the players in the studio.

Good Shit ! Rent it. Watch it.
