I got a new 19" lcd on employee discount for wicked cheap. So, I spent most of today trying to save money by making a wood wall mount system that was both sturdy and adjustable - and aesthetically pleasing, of course.
Just in case anyone else is thinking about doing this too.
Thats the mount, up there. Its basically 4 pieces of wood, 12cmx12cm, cut at 30 degree angles from the corners so they taper off. Big holes drilled which bolts go through. Wing nuts tighten pieces together. Friction prevents monitor from falling against the wall. I'm so very clever. (shrug)
Here's what it looks like from the front.
And look, I even have the tapeop board open. 4 REAL.

Sweet. And probably 1/10th the cost of a commercial mount like that? 1/5th?

Those commercial mounts are stupidly expensive. I'd say at least $100 for a fancy metal one.
This actually didn't cost me anything, all built from spare wood (and bolts, etc). It shouldn't cost much though. Wood is cheap.
