Do you all have litmus tests?

Is there anyone here that will record anything, no matter what?

How much background do you check before starting a session?

-Doc

#1. Yes:
if you suck I don't record you.

#2. Almost anyone. If you suck, but, you're willing to pay more, I'll record you.
If you promote some bullshit that gets under my skin, the price gets soooo high, you can't afford it. If you can afford it, I donate $$ to your opposition.

#3 I try to do some pre production. If I determine that the "artist" is insane, I decline to work with them.
If they aren't nuts , but, have some political view that's weird to me AND they are female, they must pass the cuteness test. They gotta be HOT! and "willing".
Like if they were like the weirdo you describe especially, I'm gonna try to get them pregnant, see how they play it when the rubber hits the road, maybe they'll come up with some tunage worth recording.

Personally, I could care less what their "thing" is till it hits one of MY mics. I'm pro choice only because I believe it to be true no matter what that you always have a choice and you are always choosing your future anyway, you could just be responsible for it or not. Either way, you pay for it. So she wants people to have enough faith in the future to go ahead and have the love child, optimism and faith combined, that ain't so bad, but, it should be an active and responsible choice.
News flash: Choosing not to have faith in your own future and abilities does not make you smarter than anyone, more responsible than anyone, or give ytou a brighter outlook or new future to live. It does however foretell your doom, forget god, the bible, Jesus, Mohammed, Buddha, Ahra Mazda, the great spirit, or whatever you use to take the own-ness off you, it's a math equation. 1-1=0

Yes, and yes.

Well, I'm more of a fiscal conservative and social libertarian wrapped up in a fun-lovin' constitutionalist. But you're close.

You ever see that bumper sticker that says, "If you like the first amendment, you'll really love the second?" That's my kinda humor.

You must throw good parties.

I'm in the middle of setting up my new studio here in Memphis, cleaning up, meeting new people, hooking up gear so that everything is at the touch of a button or knob, yada yada yada, and I moved my home computer back to the studio, so, it's kinda busy here. You can't beat the board, I agree!
