Alesis HD24 vs. HD24XR?

Post by pulse_divider » Wed Jan 25, 2006 11:45 am

Just wondering how the HD24 stacks up against the HD24XR in the lower (44.1k, 48k) settings? Anyone A/B'ed them?
I've heard that the converters on the XR are better, but is this only because they can do 96k, or do they just sound better on any setting?
Opinions appreciated.
Thanks.

I think the XR sounds better due to the better analog components. Plus, the frequency range extends further than the stock HD24. "20 hz to 20 khz"(stock) "20 hz to 40khz" (XR)..! So says the Alesis spec sheet..!
