I did a google search, and it looked like the spec's are the same. I couldn't find anything from the manufacturer or a third party that would lead me to pay the extra money -- except for some vague bullshit that one mic is good for everything (the more expensive one, of course), and one mic is good for most things. Upon a closer look, I see that they're different colors, and it looks like the cheaper one doesn't have a cable.

As far as I can tell they are the same, they have the same ribbon specs anyway, unlike their other one, the RSM-5 or something, which is more expensive and actually has a much thicker ribbon, which I would think would be a bad thing, but what do I know... As far as I could tell, the 2 model comes with that nice mount while the 1 doesn't. I imagine these mics are heavy and I know from experience that a cheap mount can break suprisingly easily and cause a lot of aggravation even if it stays in tact. In my opinion it's worth the extra dough to get it, the mic is still a steal at 180 and I can't imagine finding a shockmount or something to fit one of these into if the mount broke.
