As we all know, the gear doesn't matter. It's how you use it. So stop talking about gear and go to the pawn shop and pick up one of those mini tape recorders. They have built in mics so you don't even need a mic. You just have to use it right.

right. nobody was attacking your methods (sweet drum machine tracks bro), so why give people shit about wanting to learn about other possibilities? you can play with finger paint the rest of your life, which is fine, but it's hardly pointless to pick up a paintbrush.

This forum is like that as well. It is how you use it. If you use it well, it can be a brilliant source of information, shared across many genre's, levels of accomplishment, and place and time...

Enjoy the benefits, learn to use it properly and you will be amazed, just like gear.

Joel's right about that. One thread will offer praise and speak on the advantages of the latest Portico box right underneath another thread where people are talking about tracking electric Bass through a Lil' Smokey.

This forum thrives on creativity.

word. i think the gear talk can be really interesting. it's just when folks are
bragging about their latest super-expensive stuff that i get bummed...but
i'm just jealous...i'd want to brag about it too if i had it.

just like gear, this talk/forum is really what YOU want to make of it.

*sigh*

I'm being SILLY. Consider this thread in conjunction with all the "How do I get X sound?" threads. Then lighten up.

Are you going through seller's remorse, is that why you're ragging on this forum?

If this forum is about creativity, then how come my gear lust went through the f-ing roof when TOMB came back online?

I don't blame NAMM, I'll tell you that.
