EV RE55 Mics

Post by Derrick » Thu Feb 09, 2006 11:06 am

I'm getting a pair of Electro Voice RE55 mics soon. One of the mics was sent back to EV apparently to have the capsule replaced in the past couple years... should this be a big deal? Could EV still have a "REAL" 55 capsule or just a generic rough equivalent that simply "works"? I asked if there is any noticeable difference in the pair and I was told "no". Should the mic with the replaced capsule be just as good still?

These should be cool for OH drum micing! I decided to try them after reading about them here.

If you ever find any more of those mics, let me know. They totally suck. But I love them.
