I was actually gonna recommend a $200 Casio.

But I think Nord Electro is the correct answer. Though you will have to sell your semen to a clinic to buy one.

if you have an unusually large amount of semen to sell you could even get a nord stage...

This will not be a problem for Geoff. He is as fertile as mother earth herself.

I've read that the acoustic piano sounds on the Nord are not that great, but I think it's possible to replace them. The electric piano and the B3 sims are top notch, however. They are expensive, that is for sure.

The Yammy P120 sounds great for acoustic piano, and Yamaha usually does a great job with electric pianos but their organ sounds mostly leave a lot to be desired. I have not heard the P120 however, so I don't know.

I don't know what your budget is, but here's my 2 bits:

* In the lower end, the Yamaha keyboards are undisputedly great in their piano sounds and keyboard action. Non piano sounds are pretty bad, if you ask me.

* In the cheapo sound module kingdom, I've had good luck with the Kurzweil Micropiano. You may want to look at some of the others. Any other suggestions?

* You could come up with a hybrid. Good keyboard, drive other modules via MIDI.

* Good all in one keyboard? Too rich for my blood...

This is something I'm always tinkering with. . .

Current;y my favorite is a Kurzweil SP88x for weighted action and pianos, with a variety of modules for organs. I used to have a Voce module that was good which I paired with a Motion Sound Leslie sim. Currently I'm using a Roland Super JV (1080) in its place. This is a pretty good setup.

There was another Roland performance keyboard that I thought looked interesting, released recently but may already be discontinued. Weird. I haven't been able to find info on that lately.

How hard is it to make a nice synth that does both pianos and organs well? HELLO? Seems like a no-brainer.

I've been looking for the same thing. The Nord Electro 2 is probably the only thing out there that specializes in "vintage keys" (which emu doesn't make any more, as far as I know), with a couple of add on piano sounds. I was fooling with it in Guitar Center the other day. The sounds are pretty good -- but the keyboard itself isn't that great. The grand piano isn't all that great either, but it's probably as good as almost any other keyboard under a couple of grand that isn't dedicated to piano. And there are no drawbars for the organs (which sound pretty decent), but instead you get these little buttons. But it's pretty much the only keyboard out there that specializes in Rhodes/wurlitzer, Clavinet, B3, and piano. I'd probably get the Nord Electro 2 rack for around 1099 (musicians friend price), and get an m-audio controller keyboard for a few hundre, but I definitely wouldn't get one with a keyboard.
